Biography

Bobby's rookie year win Winston Cup came in 1993. That year he drove a Maxwell House T-Bird. He drove for Maxwell house again in 1994 in a Pontiac and moved to the Joe Gibbs owned team sponsored by Interstate Batteries in 1995. He has been there ever since teamed with his crew chief Jimmy Makar.

Bobby is the only driver to have won both the Busch 1992 and the Winston Cup Championships 2000. He is also part of the only team of brothers to have won the Winston Cup Championship. His brother Terry won it driving for Piedmont Airlines in 1984 and driving for Kelloggs in 1996.

My most memorable Bobby Moment was when he clinched the Winston Cup Championship last year at the Homestead Raceway. His teamate Tony Syewart won the race and the two of them did a side by side victory lap. In 1996 Bobby won the last race of the year at the Atlanta Motor Speedway and his brother Terry clinched the Championship in the same race. They did a side by side victory lap then also.
